Guinness were really supportive when I returned to work after having my daughter. They offered flexible working hours that I was able to fit around my children.
Working as a carer is such a rewarding job. I really enjoy supporting people when the circumstances are challenging. I make sure our customers get access to the service they need and I develop relationships with other health care professionals to support our customers and colleagues.
I've had lots of training since joining Guinness. As well as completing two NVQ's, I've been on an extensive induction programme, dementia training, and care planning. I've also attended an independence workshop on behalf of Guinness with the local authority.
Before I joined Guinness I had no experience of care but thanks to the support and training I've received, I've progressed to a senior role and I'm still learning more each week about how I can support our customers to remain at home and encourage their independence.
There's a really positive atmosphere here, which is supportive and encouraging. We all do our very best each day. If you're ambitious, enjoy working hard and being part of a tight team – Guinness is a great place to work.
